Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Frederick is in Maryland, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Frederick is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Maryland's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Love this place! Been to many nurseries in the area - this place and DR Snell are my favorites. I got flowers from both places every year. I appreciate that this place is the only place left that offer 6 pack annuals. To people who give them 1 star review and complain about how plants die and demand a refund. Seriously, if you’re a gardener, you must know how hard it is to care and grow these babies everyday. I hate when people return and demand a refund , go to Lowe’s or home depot . They’re corporate, they’ll live. These small local places are relying in this season to make a living. These are flowers i got from them. Everyone is thriving .

Since moving to Maryland I have been a regular customer at the Dutch Plant Farm. Though some prices were ridiculous, I still shopped to support local nurseries. On 13 July26 I went to the Dutch Plant Farm to look at orchids and one in particular caught my eye. On my way to the register I realized that the orchid showed signs of rot in the pot, but there were so many roots I still chose to proceed. As a precaution I let the cashier , who was very nice know of what I saw with the orchid and she said she’s going to call over her manager just to make sure the orchid was good to purchase. The store manager walked up to me very aggressively, yanked away the orchid which I had all intention to purchase and even tried yanking to orchid forcefully out of the pot to expose the roots and decide to lecture me on how she’s been doing this for 40 years and tried implying the rotting roots were not attached even though they clearly were. She was quite unprofessional and even after trying to check out continued to aggressively make suggestions towards me for a conversation that long ended , as I chose not to respond. Given the rude interaction I had, I will not be purchasing at the Dutch Plan

I will start by saying that I loved this place. If I needed or wanted plants or anything plant related, they were always my first stop. Sadly this will not continue. I recently purchased 4 identical plants. I hadn’t planted them due to a two day storm, so all four plants have been sitting together on my front step - all getting the same amount of rain and sunlight. Over the last three days two of the plants were thriving and two kept looking worse and worse. Two of them are nearly dead now. So I went back to Dutch’s and spoke with the greenhouse manager. I completely understand a policy and I can respect a policy. What I can’t respect is being spoken to as if I am a complete idiot. “Well, plants need water,” “you’ve been delinquent,” “it’s simple, they are suffering because they haven’t been watered.” Over and over again. Yes, of course I understand they need water. I have over 100 plants in my home - I know how to care for and water plants. What doesn’t make sense is that four plants that all received the same attention (sadly not much from me - so perhaps a little delinquent - although he didn’t need to call me that), they all got the same light and rain - so why are two nearly d

What an amazing store to purchase plants, garden supplies, and landscaping decorations. They have unique flowers which you can't find at Lowes or Home Depot. The flowers we selected will make our home pop and not have the same look as all our neighbors. We will be back again!!!

I brought my Chinese money plant to Dutch Plant Farm for its first time check-up and had a wonderful experience. The service was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The staff was knowledgeable and took great care in handling my plant. I appreciated their professionalism and genuine care for plant health. I recommend Dutch Plant Farm to anyone looking for quality plant care and friendly service.
